Recent successful assignments by RFB Food Solutions

June 2010 - September 2011 Assigned to an SME Fresh Food Producer on a retainer basis providing technical, product development and food safety support, acting as key contact between the producer, customer and local authority on all issues technical, product development and food safety.

October 2010 - January 2011 Following a poor site audit and loss of confidence with a major customer worked with a large cooked meat manufacturer to re-establish confidence and technical compliance, resulting in a satisfactory re-audit and development of improved technical liaison and significantly improved the companies business development potential with the customer 

August 2010 - May 2012 (ongoing) Conducted a complete shelf-life validation project for a sandwich manufacturer on a new range of MAP extended life sandwiches from kitchen through factory trial to successful launch into a number of wholesale and food service sector customers. Acted as the key contact on the project between the customer and producer and between the customer and media. Due to its sensitive and unique nature, the project received a great deal of media attention so RFB Food Solutions acted as the main spokesperson for the project with the press, media and numerous other interested organisations.  Latterly the project has developed into a multi-million pound brand and the range is currently being extended using different packaging formats and product type with similar technology, we now act as advisor's to the business concerned and continue to assist in developing the business. 

Sept 2011 - June 2012 Taken an SME through BRC Global Standard for Food v6 from pre audit-audit preparation and redevelopment of the management system, through the evaluation, to post audit follow up corrective action implementation and non-conformance closure. Grade A was achieved.

December 2010 - May 2011 Conducted six months interim management for a frozen and chilled product manufacturer providing full technical cover during absence of the Technical Manager

October 2010 - August 2011 Worked with a global food manufacturer to initially conduct a site evaluation for high risk/high care cook chill sauce manufacture followed by development, with management, of an implementation plan to address all issues and re-design the factory.  Project managed the re-design and implementation of process improvements.

January - February 2012 & ongoing Conducted  a number of desk-top technical studies including Aflaxtoxins and Chlorine Dioxide  for  red24 assist, a global risk management and security provider.

November 2011 - June 2012 Assigned to a global Thai chicken, food and fish importer to the UK assisting the packing and manufacturing site in the re-development of its business management systems including the development of technical policies, procedures and management systems.

Numerous dates during 2011 & on going Developed a bespoke allergen awareness training package in Allergen Management and subsequently conducted the training to over 250 employees in a number of different companies.

Numerous dates through 2010 & on going Developed a bespoke HACCP training package and delivered the training to over 500 employees in a number of different companies.       

April - June 2012 (ongoing relationships) On behalf of two UK consultancies sub-contracted to advise several of their clients on a variety of topics including allergen management, training requirements and specification management.

September 2012 - (ongoing) Conducted a product recall simulation training excercise on behalf of red24 assist a global risk management and security provider to a multinational food manufacturers senior management team also completed further desk top studies on Food Allergens and Intolerance, also a document review of a global manufacturers quality management system.  

September 2012 - June 2013 - On a retainer basis assigned to an SME producer of ambient and chilled sauce and puree products to oversee all matters technical and act as principal contact between customers and all key contacts, also during the sale of the company act as a main contact between the company a buyer also post acquisition integration.

September 2012 - March 2013 - Attend on a weekly basis a large frozen private label ready meal manufacturer to advise on a variety of aspects including departmental structures, QA regimes development, trouble shooting and a host of different aspects of technical and operational improvement projects.

January 2013 - On going - Sub contracted to a large Agro Marine business based in Southern India, to advise on all aspects Technical including preparation for UK retailer and BRC audits, systems re development of Technical systems, advise on many aspects of manufacture and supply to the UK.  Including regular visits accompanying customers/auditors to the manufacturing site in India and associated farms, hatchery & feed mill. 

January 2013 to December 2013 - Grant funded project ( via manufacturing advisory service) with an SME pie manufacturer to advise on operational and site design for good manufacture and redevelop the company HACCP and quality management system in readiness for an increase in volume and larger customer base.

November 2013 On going - Principal Technical advisor to a new start business involved in infant food in readiness for launch of a brand of meals to a large UK retailer, assisting in all aspect food safety, including development of policies and procedure for the business and co-packer selection.

May 2014 - On behalf of a large USA retailer conducted a number of vetting and trouble shooting audits of its key suppliers of food products in India. Submitted and agreed corrective actions and on going monitoring of improvements with each supplier.

December 2013 - On going - sub contracted to conduct numerous assessments of imported chilled meat from the southern hemisphere on arrival into the UK for a large importer.  Also conducted expert reports on disputed rejected/suspect consignments providing written reports in readiness for potential legal action.

January 2014 - On going advising a number of companies on the application and implementation of the new BRC standard for agents and brokers issue 1 and developed with one of the businesses a full QMS and associated management systems in readiness for the BRC audit.  

September 2013 - March 2014 - Developed a range of pour over ready to eat sauces for a large Maltese company and advised on numerous Technical aspects related to the business, visited the site on numerous occasions and worked along side the Technical and Development team to final development approval.

March 2013 - March 2014 - Working with an SME cake bakery (MAS grant assisted) to re-design and develop operational improvements to increase bakery capacity and more consistent and efficient manufacture of Artisan bespoke large cakes. 

2014 - Ongoing - Principal technical advisor to a fully integrated shrimp processor based near Chennai India with offices in UK & USA

2015 - Ongoing Working with a global ftse 100 food company providing specialist Technical advice on a number of major investment projects with international work in Turkey, Abu Dhabi and Kazakhstan

June 2014 - Ongoing BRC Agents & Brokers accreditation, assisted 6 large UK & eu importers through the process of accreditation from initial training, gap analysis, system development through to accreditation

On going - Sub contracted main consultant for a consultancy arm of a main certification body providing expert food consultancy, specialist training and special projects

On going - Provision of expert witness reports for a number of food related claims and prosecutions acting for both defence, claimant and prosecution

On going - On behalf of a large risk management consultancy aligned to a number of Insurance underwriters, conduct pre insurance risk assessments including desk top reviews, document reviews and general advice also pre incident advice and post incident reviews.
